Hebrews 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
This verse highlights the incredible faith of believers who endured immense suffering for their unwavering loyalty to God. Naturally, we seek relief from pain, as it serves as a protection against harm. However, the spiritual aspect of life teaches us to find peace and joy even in trials, knowing that God is in control. The Old Testament saints, featured in Hebrews 11, lived by faith and endured hardships, testifying to God’s faithfulness.
As believers, we are called to trust God and follow His lead, even through challenging times. Hebrews 10:38 reminds us that “the just shall live by faith,” and without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).
Some believers faced severe persecution and could have escaped by renouncing their faith. Yet, they chose to endure, looking beyond their suffering to the glories of eternal life. Their testimonies encourage us to remain faithful to God, no matter the trials we face.
