Rewards and the Loss Thereof

Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

1 Corinthians 3:11–15 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

These scriptures remind us that every believer will one day stand before The Bema Seat of Christ, not for judgment of salvation, but for rewards based on our service to God.

As a believer, our service to God is a choice we must make daily. This decision is crucial, as it determines our eternal rewards. On that day, our works will be tested by fire.

The things of this world will pass away, but what we do for Christ will last forever. This will be a sobering moment, revealing the true nature of our life’s work. Take a moment to consider your life and strive to live each day for God, knowing that your efforts will be rewarded in eternity.
