Does the Lord ask us to do things that we are totally incapable of ever doing? As I pondered this question, I realized that the answer is both simple and profound: You’re right. You can’t. This is the essence of our new series, “The Importance of Faith in Daily Living.”
We were created by design to live in trust and dependence on God. When we act independently, we often find ourselves in a mess. One of the worst things that can happen is succeeding at the wrong thing. True success comes from living hand in hand with God.
Faith is not just for salvation but for daily living. Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us that we are saved by grace through faith, not by our works.
Ephesians 2:8–9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
This faith is the foundation of our Christian life. God repeats this message throughout the Bible, emphasizing that “the just shall live by faith” (Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38).
Living by faith means constantly relying on God and communicating with Him in prayer, acknowledging God’s presence in every aspect of our lives. It’s not about long, repetitive prayers but about a continuous conversation with God. Whether driving, working, or facing daily challenges, we should always be aware that we are in God’s presence.
Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
We were created to live dependent on Him. In a world full of trials and tribulations, faith is essential. We can’t control everything, but God can guide us through every situation.
One of the saddest conditions is a believer who lives without faith, wallowing in doubts and fears. We trust God for our eternal salvation, so why not trust Him for our daily needs?
Faith is not just a concept; it’s a way of life. Let’s live by faith, trusting God in every aspect of our lives.
