In Acts 27, Paul’s journey to Rome takes a dangerous turn when a fierce storm arises. The crew, desperate to save the ship, lightens the load, but hope dwindles as they lose sight of the sun and stars for days. As the ship is about to break apart, soldiers plan to kill the prisoners, but the centurion, wishing to save Paul, instructs those who can swim to jump overboard while others cling to broken pieces of the ship. Remarkably, everyone reaches land safely.
This story illustrates how our perspective can quickly change. What seemed worthless before, like a broken piece of wood, becomes invaluable in times of need. Let us remember to be thankful for everything in our lives, as even broken pieces may sustain us during our darkest hours.
