Matthew 10:29–31 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
In a world where we often measure our worth by external standards, we would do well to remember our value in God’s eyes. We are cherished by God far beyond what we can imagine.
As described in the Bible, sparrows were sold cheaply and were abundant in ancient times. Yet, not one of these tiny birds falls to the ground without God’s notice. How much more does He care for us, His children? Our circumstances or past mistakes do not determine our worth; rather, it is determined by the boundless love of our Heavenly Father.
Sometimes, believers may feel like the “fifth sparrow”—the one thrown into the deal for free, seemingly without value. I want to reassure you that this is far from the truth. Even when you feel overlooked or unworthy, God sees, knows, and values you beyond measure. His love is not contingent on your perfection but on His grace and mercy.
When you see a bird, let it be a reminder of God’s love for you—a love that surpasses that for the sparrows. You are not just another face in the crowd; you are a beloved child of God, deserving of His blessings and care.
