Let Your Light Shine

In today’s world, getting caught up in seeking recognition and praise is easy. But as believers, we are called to a higher purpose.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Life is not about drawing attention to ourselves but giving God all glory. Whether through preaching, teaching, or simply helping those in need, our actions should reflect the love and humility of Christ.

Luke 14:7-11 and Proverbs 27:2 further emphasize the importance of humility. We are to seek the lowest place, allowing others to praise us rather than promote ourselves. This humility doesn’t mean hiding our gifts; instead, it means using them in a way that honors God and serves others.

Jesus Christ is our perfect example. Though He was God, He humbled Himself and became a servant, obedient even to death on the cross (Philippians 2:4-8). By following His example, we can let our light shine brightly, fulfilling our duty to glorify God in heaven.

So, let your light shine today. Use the opportunities and abilities God has given you to make a difference in the world. Remember, it’s not about us—it’s about Him.
