Temples and Priests

Have you ever considered the incredible truth that your body is a temple of God? In 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, we are reminded that the Spirit of God dwells within us.

1 Corinthians 3:16–17 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Reflecting on this scripture, it’s clear how important it is to live a life dedicated to God’s glory. Our bodies are not just physical entities; they are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

But there’s more to our identity in Christ. According to 1 Peter 2:9, we are also a royal priesthood, chosen to proclaim the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. This calling, initially given to the Jews, now extends to the Church. It’s a reminder that we are meant to be a light in this world, guiding others to Jesus Christ.

As we reflect on these truths, let’s commit ourselves to appreciating who we are in Christ and living out our God-given purpose.
