Life is filled with tasks, and how we approach them varies greatly. Some people are diligent, while others may be negligent or even workaholics. As Christians, we must remember that one day, we will give an account of our lives before God.
Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
To help us prioritize our tasks, let’s consider some biblical guidelines:
- Keep Your Priorities in Order: Matthew 6:33 reminds us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. When we do this, everything else falls into place.
- Glorify God in All You Do: 1 Corinthians 10:31 encourages us to do everything for the glory of God.
- Use Your Time Wisely: Ephesians 5:15-17 advises us to walk wisely, redeeming the time because the days are evil.
- Be Orderly: 1 Corinthians 14:33 tells us that God is not the author of confusion but of peace.
- Set Realistic Goals: Hebrews 12:1 urges us to lay aside every weight and run with patience the race set before us.
- Do God’s Work: 1 Thessalonians 5:24 assures us that God, who calls us, will also empower us to succeed in His tasks.
- Be Diligent: Colossians 3:23 encourages us to work heartily as for the Lord, not for men.
Flexibility is also crucial. Proverbs 16:9 reminds us that while we plan our way, the Lord directs our steps. Life’s interruptions are often divine appointments, and we must be open to God’s leading.
By aligning our daily tasks with these biblical principles, we can live a life that honors God and fulfills His purposes. Remember, one day we will give an account of how we managed our responsibilities. Let’s strive to hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
