US Ambassador to UN Human Rights Council “appalled” by plan to have Iranian official chair Human Rights Council Forum

A plan to have an Iranian official serve as chair of the United Nations Human Rights Council Forum is slated to go into motion today. The US Ambassador to the UN Human Rights Council, Michele Taylor, has stated that the US is “appalled” that this plan would move forward. Taylor noted Iran’s “deplorable” human rights record and also pointed out that the Iranian foreign minister threatened the US last week for supporting Israel in their current war against Hamas.
